Frequently Asked Questions
BotX MIG welds virtually any material, including aluminum. The system is available in various table sizes and configurations, with the ability to combine multiple tables for larger parts. Our experts will work with you to evaluate your specific needs and determine if BotX is the right solution for you.
BotX is designed to leverage your existing welders. Instead of continuing to search for additional skilled welders that are increasingly difficult to find, the BotX can be taught to weld routine parts by your existing workforce. This frees up your existing workforce to focus on higher value tasks such as more complex welds or supervising several BotX! The included library of welding recipes will assist in getting each application to a good starting point. Once your existing skilled welders have fine-tuned the welding parameters to achieve your engineered specifications and taught BotX its task, any operator can perform highly accurate, consistent welds.
Red-D-Arc weld automation specialists will install BotX and train your staff on its use. Ongoing support is available 24/7 through the app, with 95% of inquiries solved in minutes. Onsite support is available if your issue cannot be resolved virtually.
In the event of a breakdown Red-D-Arc will quickly swap out the defective component on rented or leased systems, minimizing downtime. Customers who have purchased their system can rent a replacement component.
Your overall output can depend on many factors, however, when compared to manual welding, most BotX customers see a 2-3X increase in productivity due to BotX working at a consistent pace, faster travel speeds and reduced time spent grinding or reworking parts due to the consistent weld quality. In addition, one of the biggest productivity improvements you should expect is that your skilled welders can do what they do best, and a non-welder operator can tend to the BotX. Creating two welding zones such that BotX can be welding in one zone while the operator is unloading and loading parts in the second will significantly increase the productivity of the system. If your parts are small enough a divider can be placed on the 4’ x 4’ table to create two 4’ x 2’ zones. If needed, a second 4’ x 4’ table can be attached to the primary table, with a safety screen in between, to double the work area.
